Busy few days
Well, since Friday evening I have:
- Got automatic transcoding of my Windows Vista Media Ultimate DVR-MS recordings to an iPod compatible format working using DVRMS toolbox with an ffmpeg action patch, and the all singing, all dancing, ffmpeg (what an amazing tool!)
- Read about, thought about and implimented a lab Microsoft DFS implimentaiton with replications - this is so cool. You can even define replicaiton bandwidth limits on a schedual! and its free!
- Eaten 2 cossiants in one sitting...
- Fallen completly in love with my iPod touch - such amazing attention to detail - makes microsofts UI efforts look a bit shabby to say to least! God only knows how many late nights went into this thing!
- Found out my car tax has expired, that I can't find the log book or policy document, and that it is time for a service. Bugger. I'll be spending a good hour tomrrow trying to explain myself on the phone to one of the helpful Welsh grannies at the DVLA.
- Found out that Apple have changed the video out specs of the iPod touch, only after buying a video out dock. Gits.
- Retired my Archos 604 & DVR station - ebaying it later.
- Failed to put my new tires on my bike. Nor even ride it. I am getting '30 something dad paunch' :-(
- Retired my iPod nano 2G - ebaying it later
- In-place upgraded 2 x win2k3 servers to R2 (amazingly easy process but watch out for SKU/channel limitiations)
- Dreamt about IT at least once - a horrible SAN dream again
- Bought my son a new Duplo rubbish bin lorry which he so adores he just woke up crying and complaining that he wanted to play with it...
<wipes brow and collapses backwards into sofa>
